There are various award procedures, which depend on the different value limits. In most cases, several company bike providers are compared. Feel free to request an offer from us or get individual advice from our company bike experts.
The collective agreement on bike leasing clearly states that employees of public-sector employers and municipal public services can also benefit from salary conversion. In practice, this means that the municipality or public authority leases the employee’s dream bike and reduces their gross salary by the corresponding instalment. This means there are no costs for the employer. The amount of the instalment can be calculated in advance using our calculator. Thanks to the lower gross salary, employees save on tax and social security contributions and can achieve savings of up to 40%.
The collective agreement on bike leasing allows employees of public-sector employers and municipal public services to use salary conversion for bike leasing. This means they can benefit from tax and social security advantages and lease bicycles or e-bikes as company bikes. At the same time, the employer must not incur any financial obligation. It also specifies that employees may lease no more than one bike and that the total value of the bike, including accessories, must not exceed €7,000 (incl. VAT). That is why we have introduced special terms for the public sector that are specifically designed to meet these requirements. More details can be found in the collective agreement.
You sign a framework agreement with the company bike company that complies with the conditions set out in the collective agreement. We provide you with digital Company bike contracts for your employees, which are sent automatically when you accept leasing offers from your employees. These contracts set out the conditions under which your employees can use the bike. Our legal experts regularly review these contracts to ensure that they comply with the latest leasing standards.
The savings are generated through the salary sacrifice. You reduce your employees' gross wages by the rate of the selected company bike, which they can view on our platform. The lower gross wages mean that employees save on taxes and social security contributions and receive their company bike in return for the wage sacrifice. This can result in savings of up to 40%.
Company bike leasing contracts have a term of 36 months. Of course, it may happen that an employee leaves the company during this period for various reasons. Deutsche Dienstrad guarantees complete risk exemption and the associated termination of the contracts for you.
At the end of the contract term, there are several options.
- The employee returns the bike and chooses a new one.
- The employee purchases the bike at a favourable price.
In any case, Deutsche Dienstrad offers a 100% return guarantee, even if the employee decides not to keep the bike.
The leasing rate for the company bike is generally considered a business expense. Therefore, employers who are eligible for input tax deduction can deduct the VAT included in the conversion amount. As a result, the company bike is significantly cheaper for your employees than a conventional purchase. For employers who are not eligible for input tax deduction, the savings on the company bike are slightly lower.
The person responsible for bike leasing and all employees receive personalized access to the Dienstrad platform. All GDPR regulations are fully complied with. All data managed within the scope of the order is, of course, processed in accordance with data protection regulations, and appropriate technical and organizational measures are implemented in accordance with the EU GDPR.
