Leasable accessories – your company bike, tailored to your preferences
What could be better than the perfect company bike? A perfect company bike that is 100% tailored to your needs. You can directly co-finance anything that is permanently attached to the bike or makes your ride even more enjoyable—from smartphone holders to GPS trackers. Tax-efficient and often cheaper than buying individually.
What does "leaseable accessories" actually mean?
Accessories that can be included directly in your lease agreement and thus benefit from tax advantages are eligible for leasing. At Deutsche Dienstrad, anything that is permanently attached to the bike or improves its use, functionality, or safety can be leased. The big advantage: you save up to 40% compared to buying directly and have everything from a single source—including insurance and service.
What is not included: clothing, helmets, spare parts, backpacks and bags, tools, pumps, individual water bottles, bicycle trailers, and bike baskets. This restriction makes sense, as the lease focuses on the bike and its direct functional enhancements.
How accessory leasing works – timing is crucial
The optimal process: Once you have selected your desired bike, talk to your local dealer about the accessories you want. The dealer will then configure the complete offer—bike plus accessories—and upload it as a complete package to the Dienstrad platform. This means that everything is summarized in one Contract and you benefit from tax advantages on everything.
Why this order is so important: Accessories that are purchased later cannot be included in the leasing contract and therefore lose their tax advantages.
What is not included – and why that makes sense
Which accessories are actually eligible for leasing depends somewhat on the Employer and the individual framework agreement and may therefore vary.
However, the distinction between accessories that can and cannot be leased is well thought out: helmets, clothing, and shoes are very individual items that are often changed or replaced. Tools, pumps, and spare parts are consumables or maintenance accessories that do not remain permanently on the bike.
Backpacks, bags, baskets, and water bottles (without holders) are not specific to bikes. Bike garages and trailers go beyond the frame of the actual bike.
This distinction ensures that the lease focuses on what really becomes part of your company bike – while keeping the tax benefits clearly defined.
Your company bike becomes your perfect companion with the right accessories. Whether for safety, sport, family, or commuting—get advice from your dealership. Not only will you be riding smart from a tax perspective, but you'll also have everything you need for your individual mobility.
